12. Attend at least one Mathematics conference
I went to the SAMSI conference back in March that was (conveniently) held at NCSU. Not only did I get to fulfill my goal of getting off of my butt and going to a conference, but I also got to see my mentor of sorts give a talk. It was rather...interesting. I also got to see just how bad most talks are. UGH.
30. Regain my passion for Mathematics.
This one is pretty hard to verify whether or not I did it, but I'm pretty sure that I did, so...
I spent a LOT of time in both March and April, working around the clock. We're talking about sitting down to do a problem and not having any awareness of the outside world for a good 8 hours. I haven't been that into my work since I was an undergrad, and I definitely enjoyed the long, painful process of doing problems that way. Hopefully, things will continue this upcoming semester with me really wanting to work hard AND actually working hard.
62. Go to a Pilobolus performance.
I saw Pilobolus perform at ADF this year. It was quite the experience.
72. Visit the local farmer's market.
I have actually done this a few times now--all of which were in the early spring months. I definitely need to keep going back--if nothing else, there's a German baker with "bee sting cake" for sale, which is to DIE for. I also bought more than my fair share of pink lady apples last spring. And there's some homemade lemonade at one of the vendors that's pretty damn good.
